4th Nov 2025. I have changed the archive calendar to load puzzles into the player rather than going straight to print. I may have fixed a bug with the current day's puzzle sometimes not saving progress. I believe progress should be saved for older puzzles as well. Please let me know any knock on effects! Thank-you

Up Arrow Check out the new colour options - change to a black and white board.
Prefill notes and Auto Clear
  • Prefill will place 1 to 6 in any empty cell. Useful at the start of play of you prefer to remove candidates rather than add them. Optional to use.
  • Auto Clear will remove notes when you place a solution in a cell or when turned on for the first time. You can toggle on and off if you want a temporary clear-off. Optional to use.
  • Good idea or bad? Let me know andrew@str8ts.com

A list of Cage Combinations is available, and you should also be aware of the Killer Cage Convention.

How to play Mini Killer Sudoku

Mini Killer is based on 6x6 Sudoku, so ultimately you need to place the numbers 1 to 6 on all the cell so that 1 to 6 is unique in every row, column and box. However, you will have few, if any, completed cells in Killer. Instead, groups of cells form blocks or 'cages' - and the clue is the sum of the solutions to those squares. Each 'cage' is shown by a color or dashed line. A clue of '3' in a two-cell cage means those cells will contain 1 and 2 - but it won't be obvious which way round at the start of the puzzle.

Combinations are key to this puzzle at the outset, but all Sudoku strategies still apply. For more information take a look at these pages: Cell Combinations, Innies and Outies and Cage Splitting.
